Associate Professor Oakley is a specialist dermatologist at Waikato Hospital and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Waikato Clinical Campus (Auckland University School of Medicine). She is the website manager and chief editor of the successful web site, DermNetNZ.org. She is an Honorary Member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Dermatological Society, the Indian Society of Teledermatology, and MelNet New Zealand. She has numerous publications in the medical literature and is frequently invited to lecture in New Zealand and overseas. Research interests include all aspects of virtual health and early diagnosis of melanoma.
